Staying Active and Dedicated
Get To Know Dr. Derrik Johnson
Dr. Johnson was raised in Lakewood, CO. After attending the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he majored in Biology and Music, Dr. Johnson moved to Fort Collins and worked as a dental assistant prior to heading across the country to attend dental school at Boston University. Dr. Johnson met his wife Shannan as classmates in school while bonding over teeth!
Desiring further education after school, Dr. Johnson joined the United States Air Force and attended a one-year general dentistry residency where he expanded the scope of his abilities, followed by serving 4 years as a Captain in the Air Force providing a wide array of dental services to active duty airmen and retirees.
Since leaving the military, Dr. Johnson traveled around the country following his wife who underwent further training with the Air Force. This has allowed him to practice in multiple settings as well as serve as adjunct faculty at Midwestern University Dental School in Glendale, AZ, where he was voted Adjunct Faculty Member of the year two years in a row.
Colorado has always been home and now that military service is over the Johnson family is happy to be back in Colorado. Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, the Boulder-Broomfield Dental Society, Spear Study Club, WhiteCap Implant Institute, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the CEREC Mentor group.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Johnson spends his time with his wife and their three kids camping, skiing and exploring the Colorado outdoors. Despite all his travels, Colorado sports teams remain Dr. Johnson’s favorites and he is ready to root them on!
Emily
Front Office Administrator
Emily is originally from Georgia, but now calls beautiful Northern Colorado home! She has been in the Dental Field for almost a decade, starting as a Dental Assistant and moving her skill set to the Front Office. She is dedicated to helping patients from scheduling their initial visits to scheduling treatment. “I love working with patients, helping them understand their insurance benefits, payment options, and making them feel comfortable and at home in our office.”
Outside of the office Emily spends her time chasing her four year old son and spending time with her family.
Abby
Dental Assistant
Born and raised in Longmont, Abby brings astrong commitment to community care as a dental assistant. She is currentlystudying to advance her career as a registered dental hygienist. When she isnot in the office or hitting the books, Abby loves staying active outdoors byhiking and paddleboarding.
Amy
Dental Hygienist
Amy was raised in Oklahoma City, and briefly spent time in Scotland and Washington DC before settling in Tulsa, OK. Amy found lovely Lyons when searching for her new home near the mountains in 2022. Amy brings 30 years of dental experience -25 of those as a Licensed Dental Hygienist -to Redstone Dental Studio. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Oklahoma. Amy is excited about providing gentle, high quality dental care to her patients and creating lasting relationships.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her teen son, friends, traveling and attending all kinds of live music events.
Jordan
Clinical Assistant
Jordan is a Lyons native, as her family has been in our small town for over 45 years! She has been in the dental field for almost 20 years, working in nearly every position possible; she’s worked in the lab fabricating prosthetics, as an admin creating schedules and working with insurances, as well as delivering treatment plans. However, her favorite position has always been chair-side, making patients feel as comfortable as possible and educating them about their treatment and oral hygiene.
When she’s not in the office, Jordan loves to do anything outdoors such as camping, hiking, tubing down the Saint Vrain, or enjoying the many music festivals we are so blessed to have in our town. If you happen to see her walking or biking around town, she’d love for you to stop and say hello!
Your First Visit
A Comforting Patient Experience
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the smiling faces of our friendly team and the amenities of our relaxing office. We are happy to go over your completed paperwork or answer any insurance or financing questions you may have to make your appointment as seamless as possible.
After a thorough cleaning by one of our hygienists, you will meet with your doctor and receive a comprehensive oral exam, complete with any necessary x-rays. We spend the extra time to address your concerns and discuss the state of your dental health with you before outlining a unique treatment plan tailored to your needs. Before leaving, we can schedule any future visits and sign you up for our in-house membership plan.

Our office is equipped with the latest dental technology because we believe our patients deserve the best care possible. Modern dentistry tools and techniques ensure that your visit is efficient, your diagnosis and treatment are accurate, and your overall experience is comfortable.
CEREC same-day crowns are custom-made on the same day you come in for your restoration, and can last even longer than traditional crowns with proper dental care. Additionally, our CBCT scanner (cone beam computed tomography) has 3D imaging technology to capture more data with a clearer image for more accurate diagnosis.
